Good Afternoon Dons and Lady Dons

As we begin a new school year, we want to ensure a smooth and focused start for all students. Please be advised that, in accordance with Senate Bill 11 students will not be allowed to use cell phones during instructional hours. This is to promote a learning environment free of distractions and to support academic success. Please be advised that there are consequences for infractions of using cell phones during instructional hours .

School starts promptly at 7:55 AM, and we strongly encourage all students to arrive on time, ready to learn. Let’s work together to help our students build strong habits that will lead them to a successful year — and ultimately, receive the necessary credits to move forward. Making it a habit to arrive on time daily and to all classes develops good habits for success.

If you did not purchase a parking pass, you will need to secure this tomorrow. Also, any students without a schedule can stop by the front office for one. As a reminder... no cell phones, so it will be best if you have a hard copy of your schedule to support your transitions throughout the school day.

Freshman and Sophomores are not eligible to leave campus for lunch. Juniors and Seniors in good standing may leave. Any outside food being brought in will need to be dropped off at the front office.

We are proud to say that West Las Vegas High School is on the Road to Awesome — and our final destination is nothing less than graduation. Thank you for your continued support in helping our students stay focused, engaged, and on track.

Attention West Las Vegas High School Families of 11th-grade students taking the SAT. Today, there were some issues with our Internet; therefore, students started the afternoon sessions late. Testing will run until approximately 3:30. Coaches have all been notified, and the counselors have confirmed that none of the students are bus riders. If we stop the test, we will need to invalidate the entire group. I thank you for your understanding.
